The Indian River County Democratic Executive Committee Officers for 2008-2010

Mark Manera: Chairman (Mountmanera@yahoo.com)
Mark’s background is in Accounting and Retail Sales. He is an energetic, dedicated individual who strives to inject positive energy into every task. His vision is to help the Democratic Party expand its’ membership, so that we can be proud to be Democrats in Indian River County. He is also passionate in assisting young individuals reaching their fullest potential with support and scholarships. We are fortunate to have his quality leadership skills. His magnetic, gentle personality style brings people together, and he inspires us to want to work for our community. (Through Mark's efforts we were awarded a certificate of Compliance in addition to an optional audit at the state level).

Elsie Visel: Vice Chairwoman (mtelsie@AOL.com)
Elsie is a retired teacher from the New York City school system who has been politically active in Vero Beach since 1999. Elsie has participated on numerous Boards such as the Democratic Executive Committee, American Association of University Women, National Organization of Women, and the Democratic Women's Club. She is also a member of Planned Parenthood. Mrs. Visel is an experienced campaign manager, precinct worker and fundraiser. It is an honor and a privilege to be able to work with her expertise. She is truly admired among many.

Pamela Director: State Committeewoman (pamdirector@yahoo.com)
Pam's educational background includes the following: Registered Nurse, B.A. in Political Science from the University of Baltimore, and a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Nova University. She is also a Mental Health Counselor. Pam is particularly proud of lobbying for the Equal Rights Amendment in Washington D.C. Recently, she worked as a Treasurer for the local Obama Headquarters. She has also been involved with canvassing neighborhoods, phone banking, poll watching, and fund raising. In 2009, Mrs. Director won Dancing with the Vero Stars as best dancer with her teacher Joe Tessier The I.R.H.S.C raised $50,000.00 for the event! Hence, you might keep a look out for our annual dinner dance in November. Giving back to the community and fair treatment of women and children is her passion.

Jeanne Gallup: Secretary
Jeanne has a Masters in Social Work from the University of Connecticut. For the last eleven years she has been employed at the District 15 Agency for Persons with Disabilities as a case manager. She also has been on the D.E.C. Board for the last five years in various roles. Her main passion is increasing our membership and promoting Universal Health Care.

Stephen J. Sczurek: Treasurer
Stephen obtained his Masters degree in Public Affairs from the University of Connecticut, and Law J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law. He served in the United States Army, National Guard and Army Reserve. He also has an Honorable discharge rank as Captain. He believes in freedom and equal justice for all people. His vision is an effective and receptive government of the needs and the will of the people that honors and keeps the public trust. Stephen has served on the DEC as treasurer for the last two years and is committed to assuring that our financial system has checks and balances so that your donations are handled responsibly.
